Clara White Gainey of Leland, NC, died Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Brunswick Community Hospital, Supply, NC.
She was born in Chadbourn, NC, on August 9, 1929, the daughter of the late Alton and Louise (Elliott) White, and was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Gainey and her brother, Alton White.
Surviving are a son, Glenn M. Gainey of Leland, a daughter, Cheryl G. Britt and husband Lynn of Leland, a granddaughter, Lynn Ann Morgan and husband Jay of Leland, and a great granddaughter Samantha Morgan.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Leland with the Rev. Dwight Jenkins. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
